Being myself on the Internet

Hello! If you already followed this blog you might notice that a whole bunch of new posts suddenly appeared, backdated over the last year and a half.

Cohost, the only social media site that I didn't hate using, is unfortunately shutting down. Because of that, I decided to move the posts I made there over here to this blog.

I made this blog back when I was first figuring out that I was trans, during a period when I was concerned about not sharing too much of my personality on the internet to avoid online harassment. The result of this was that I only posted professional game development posts on here, without ever talking about myself.

In the two years since then, cohost helped me open up about myself online more and I had a great time doing it! So when I saw that cohost was closing down, one of my main worries was that I didn't know where I would be able to post things like my 1 year HRT anniversary post in the future, other than my Patreon and my newsletter. After going on a walk and thinking about it for a while, I came to the conclusion that I should just get over myself and start posting that sort of thing here on this blog. After all, what's the point of having a personal website if I feel like I can't be myself and enjoy posting here? That said, if you just want to see the posts about my games you can always check the blog's Game Development tag.

Eventually I'd like to update the look of this site too, to give it something closer to the comfy look of my twitch stream. I made a games page that kind of looks like that, but I need to learn more about HTML and CSS and static site generation to be able to get the rest of my site looking that way. I'll give it another try soon. In the meantime, thank you for reading my blog!
