Game Journal: Butasan: Pig's and Bomber's (1 Credit Clear)

I saw Butasan: Pig's & Bomber's [sic] on Push To Reject and it looked like fun, so I decided to load the game up and give it a try. Forty minutes later I had finished a 1 Credit Clear run of the game.

This is by far the easiest arcade game I've ever played. I don't have a whole lot to say about its mechanics; you press the A button to throw a bomb, press the B button to duck under moving bombs, and walk into powerups to pick them up. The scoring system revolves around blowing up several pigs with the same bomb; this run has a low score, but most high scoring runs earn the vast majority of their points by blowing up lots of pigs at once at the start of round 8.

On the other hand, the game is super cute to look at. I love the enemy pig intro cutscenes!

Butasan isn't necessarily a game I'll still be thinking about years from now, but it was a wonderful way to spend 40 minutes. I recommend checking it out!
